Roadworks
Council will be carrying out work to upgrade the intersection of Jones Road and No Name Road at Woodstock. Delivered by civil contractor BMD Constructions, this is part of enabling infrastructure works for the Lansdown Eco-industrial Precinct.
As a result of this work, the road configuration at this intersection will be permanently changed to allow the safe and efficient operation of traffic into and out of the precinct from Jones Road.
Works will include:
- permanent reprioritisation of traffic travelling westbound along Jones Road turning into No Name Road
- upgrading the existing section of Jones Road between No-Name Road and west of the Ergon Substation
- upgrading drainage to maintain surface water flow
- formalising access to three properties connected to Jones Road
- limited clearing of specific trees on No Name Road to enable fence construction.
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, temporary traffic lights, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
This project is jointly funded by the Australian Government and Queensland Government, in association with Townsville City Council.
