Roadworks
Council is continuing roadworks along North Street, between Echlin Street and Cowley Street, in West End.
Please be advised that, due to an increase in required road infrastructure works, the project – originally scheduled for completion in late November – will be extended by six weeks to accommodate the renewal of the underground stormwater main.
This project is part of Council’s annual Roadworks program, which aims to maintain our Council controlled road network to ensure the community’s transportation needs are adequately met and continue to support the growth of our region.
The works will include:
- renew underground stormwater main within the intersection of North and Cowley Streets
- remove and replace the road surface with new asphalt
- painting road markings and installation of reflective markers or signage
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays, bus stop relocations and reduced speed limits
- road resurfacing will be completed first, followed by a brief pause before line marking begins. Construction
crews will not always be on-site.
This project is proudly funded by the Australian Government's Road to Recovery program and delivered in partnership with Council.
