Road Reconstruction and Footpath Works

Townsville City Council is planning to undertake road reconstruction and footpath works along Yarrawonga Drive, between Landsborough Street and Balmoral Drive, Castle Hill.

To enable the contractor to carry out geotechnical investigations a section of Yarrawonga Drive will be temporarily closed to traffic. The closure will be in place between #19 Yarrawonga Dr and the intersection of Landsborough and Paxton Street, North Ward.

As part of these works, Council will carry out geotechnical investigation of pavement between number 1 through to number 17 Yarrawonga Drive, Castle Hill, including repairs after sampling.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• temporary traffic changes, including road closures, traffic detours and reduced speed limits.

Project is funded by Townsville City Council and is being delivered by a local contractor, Shamrock Civil.
