Water Interruption Works
What works are coming up?
Townsville City Council is undertaking essential water infrastructure works in Duggan Drive, Alligator Creek, resulting in a temporary interruption to properties’ water supply as outlined below. These works are part of Council’s long-term investment in securing our water and wastewater systems, ensuring that the city’s connectivity infrastructure is maintained in optimal condition.
What will the works include?
As part of this project, Council will:
- install or repair water pipelines, pump stations, and/or major trunk lines
- restore the work area to its original condition after completion.
What does this mean for me?
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- increased noise, dust and vibrations from construction vehicles and equipment in the area
- temporary short term water supply interruptions.
Please note that sufficient water should be stored in containers prior to 8am on this day if required and automatic washing machines should be turned off during water outages.
Important: When the water supply is restored there initially may be discolouration. The team will flush the system in your area to minimise this; however, you may need to run your taps until the supply clears.
