Water Main Isolation Test

Townsville City Council is investing $352 million this year to enhance roads, transport infrastructure, parks, and water systems. As part of this initiative, Council plans to deliver the Liberty Drive water main upgrade, ensuring all properties continue to receive an efficient and reliable water service.

To prepare for this planned project, testing of the existing water pipes and associated infrastructure is required. This test will involve the temporary isolation of water supply to all properties within the boxed outline shown.

This project is part of Council’s annual water maintenance plan, which focuses on keeping our community infrastructure in optimal condition and supporting ongoing regional growth.

As part of this project, Council will:

  • undertake detailed testing of the major underground trunk line, and associated water infrastructure

If you live near, visit or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • temporary water shut-off 12noon to 2pm
  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations.
