Avoiding Potential Issues
This service is only available to residential properties who have been charged the waste levy fee in their rates, and is not available to commercial businesses or for vacant land. This also means that some rural areas may not be eligible.
We operate two types of trucks for kerbside collection, one for general waste and one for oversized items and white goods. There may be a small delay between the two trucks servicing your property and you may notice oversized items and white goods still awaiting collection after general waste has been removed.
If we cannot access your footpath, properties will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. If building work is being carried out at the property the resident will be required to arrange access through their builder directly. If it is our own Council works being carried out in the area, our departments will communicate internally to ensure both activities can be completed in the scheduled timeframe.
We are hoping people will be courteous to their neighbours, but in the event that someone makes a mess of your kerbside hard waste it will be your own responsibility to tidy up. To avoid potential complaints raised against you, it is also your responsibility to ensure items are secured when presenting them on the kerbside, and that items will not be unsafe or cause injury.
If someone leaves their hard waste on your footpath, to avoid potential disruption to your own collection you will need to advise us in advance of your hard waste collection and the matter will be investigated as an act of illegal dumping. For more information on how to make a report to us, visit our Illegal Dumping page.
Cancelling a Booking
If you need to cancel a kerbside hard waste collection booking, log in to your account on Bookable and select the ‘cancel’ option no later than two (2) days before your collection date.
If cancellation is not received within this time, it will be counted as a collection for your property.
