King tide expected Friday night
Date published: 21 July 2021
A small king tide is expected this Friday and residents in low-lying areas are being urged to prepare their properties.
The king tide will reach an expected peak of 3.82m around 9:08pm on Friday 23 July.
Those living in or visiting areas that may be affected, including South Townsville, Railway Estate, Hanran Street and Ogden Street, should observe all warnings and road closures.
Residents should also move any valuables and cars that could be impacted by salt-water flooding if they are concerned.
Anyone driving through impacted areas should remain vigilant around flooded roads – if it’s flooded, forget it.
