Environmental Recovery Works

Council is undertaking landscaping maintenance and environmental remediation works within Gustav Creek, located between Sooning Street and Barton Street in Nelly Bay.

This project is part of Council’s ongoing commitment towards environmental management, which has identified the need for environmental recovery works to mitigate the effects of recent weather events and enhance the creek’s resilience.

As part of this project, Council will:

• remove large deadwood debris to reduce the risk of riverbank erosion in alignment with natural waterway design principles
• Council staff will oversee and manage any environmental impacts resulting from these operations.

If you live near or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, vibrations and occasional odour.
