Environmental Works

Council is undertaking environmental management work within Peterson Creek, located downstream of Hayles Avenue in Arcadia, Magnetic Island.

This project is part of Council’s ongoing commitment towards environmental management, which has identified the need for proactive works in preparation to the upcoming wet-season and enhance the creek’s resilience.

As part of this project, Council will:

• undertake erosion control / scour protection techniques
• soil improvements and mulching
• undertake revegetation with local native plants
• ongoing maintenance and monitoring in response, and in preparation for wet season.

If you live near or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, vibrations and occasional odour.
