Environmental Maintenance

What works are coming up?
Council is undertaking environmental maintenance and ecological resilience works within the Springbrook Lakes adjacent Fairfield Waters Drive, in Idalia.

This project is part of Council’s ongoing commitment towards environmental management, which has identified the need and opportunity for pre-wet season lake ecology preparation, to better filter and breakdown pollutants from storm water run-off.

What will the works include?
As part of this project, Council will:

• clear overgrown aquatic vegetation in the Springbrook basin
• activate the lakes with natural microbial stimulant

What does this mean for me?
If you live near or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, vibrations and occasional odour
