Coastal Drone Survey

What works are coming up?

Coastal aerial surveys will be conducted along Big Beach, bordering northern George Ansell Avenue and Cooldetta Street, Cungulla to assess sand volume distribution and natural coastal resilience. This information will inform ongoing and future sustainable management actions.

This project is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to sustainable environmental management, recognising the valuable role ongoing coastal monitoring plays in environmental resilience and erosion management practices.

What will the works include?

As part of these works, Council will undertake:

• drone flyovers
• coastal investigations.

What does this mean for me?

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• whirring noises from drones
• drone lights in the sky.

Drone operations will avoid flying over private properties and will not interfere with or impact the community.
