Wastewater Pipeline Renewal

Townsville City Council is planning to undertake sewer pipeline renewal works to upgrade the connection service at 6 Clifton Street in North Ward. To carry out these works, Council-in partnership with the contractor- requires access to the wastewater pipeline located adjacent to the property boundary.

This project forms part of Council’s annual wastewater pipeline maintenance program, which aims to maintain and improve Council-controlled wastewater network to ensure our community’s connectivity needs are met.

As part of this project, Council will:

  • remove existing old cast iron pipe and supports
  • install gabion baskets to protect steep and slope erosion
  • install new gravity sewer pipe and supports
    restore area on project completion.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
  • temporary traffic changes, including minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
