Fencing Reinstatement Works

What works are coming up?
Townsville City Council will be undertaking fencing reinstatement works adjacent to Lakeside Drive, between Oonoonba Road and Lakeland Boulevard in Idalia.

These works are part of Council’s commitment to maintaining safe and attractive public infrastructure and respond to community feedback following the removal of the original fence in early 2024.

What will the works include?
As part of this project, Council will:

• construct a new, 2.4-meter-high, timber fence spanning approximately 316 meters
• undertake site remediation to ensure the new fence integrates with the surrounding environment

What does this mean for me?
If you live near or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• minor disruptions to traffic and access

Funding
Project funded by Townsville City Council and is being delivered by an approved Council contactor.
