Maintenance Works

Council is undertaking maintenance works to reduce erosion and enhance stormwater flow within Petersen Creek, located behind Hayles Avenue in Arcadia.

This project is part of Council’s ongoing commitment towards environmental management, which has identified the need for maintenance works to mitigate the effects of ongoing erosion and enhance the creeks resilience.

As part of this project, Council will:

• stabilising eroded creek banks with concrete blocks to minimise erosion
• Council staff will oversee and manage any environmental impacts resulting from these operations.

If you live near or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, vibrations.

This project is proudly funded by the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments through the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements and delivered in partnership with Townsville City Council.
