Kerb and Channel Renewal Works

Council is planning to deliver kerb and channel renewal work and stormwater network upgrade work within Summerfield Street between Marks Street and the Cul-de-sac end of Summerfield Street, in Hermit Park.

This project is part of our annual kerb and channel renewal program, which aims to address structural deficiencies and improve overall drainage in our Council controlled road network to enhance safety, reduce maintenance costs and improve the quality of life for residents.

As part of this project, Council will:

  • remove and replace the kerb and channel along Summerfield Street
  • reconstruct identified driveway crossovers and accesses
  • renew identified manhole access pits
  • remove and replace identified underground stormwater pipes
  • install a new kerb ramp at the entrance to Lou Litster Park.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
  • temporary disruption of vehicle access to properties
  • temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
