Shade Structure Maintenance

What works are coming up?
Council is undertaking infrastructure maintenance and refurbishment works on two shade structures located adjacent to the pier headland on The Strand.

This project forms part of Council’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure management, identifying the need for maintenance works that enhance community assets and preserve open spaces in good condition.

What will the works include?
As part of this project, Council will:

• undertake detailed maintenance work on the structure to ensure an ongoing safe and optimal shaded seating area for the community
• Council staff will oversee and manage any environmental reinstatement work resulting from these operations.

What does this mean for me?
If you visit or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• temporary closure of a section of the two shade structures, as indicated below
• increased levels of dust, noise, vibrations and occasional odour.
