Riverside Green Open Space Renewal – Stage 2A

Council is now within the final stages of planning to deliver a new junior themed play area, picnic tables and shade structures at Riverside Green in Douglas.

Stage 1 of the project was recently completed, featuring the installation of a senior-themed playground and the relocation of the off-leash dog park, paving the way for Stage 2A of the renewal to proceed.

This initiative reflects Council’s commitment to providing parks, sporting fields and recreational spaces that enhance the health, wellbeing and enjoyment of our community.

These works will include:

• installation of a new junior themed playground, rubber softfall, minor concrete and landscaping works
• installation of new sheltered bench seating and tables
• landscaping including tree planting and irrigation modifications.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• occasional short-term closures of the off-leash parks to accommodate construction activities
• safety fencing, pedestrian and traffic management.
