Fence Replacement

What works are coming up?
Townsville City Council will be undertaking works at The Green (AFL and cricket field) in North Shore. The works entail the replacement of the existing picket fence with a new perimeter fence and completing a tree root assessment to install a root barrier system where required.

These works form part of Council’s commitment to maintaining safe and attractive public infrastructure, in alignment with Council’s fencing renewal maintenance program.

What will the works include?
As part of this project Council, will:

• remove existing picket fence
• install new perimeter fence approximately 500 meters
• assessment of tree roots and installation of a root barrier system where required.

What does this mean for me?
If you live near or are travelling to the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, odours and vibrations
• temporary traffic disruption, including parking bay closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits
• temporary change of entry/exit conditions to the cricket field carpark.
