Pathway Upgrade Works
Townsville City Council is undertaking pathway upgrade works on a section of the footpath along Flinders Street and Wickham Street, in Townsville City.
This project is part of Council’s annual pathway maintenance program, which aims to maintain or improve our Council controlled pedestrian network to ensure that our community’s connectivity needs are met and continue to support the growth of our region.
As part of this project, Council will:
- remove existing pathway and construct approximately 80 meters of coloured pathway
- reinstate the pathway connection to restore functionality and appeal.
If you work in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
Project funded by Townsville City Council.
