Roadworks

Council is undertaking roadworks, kerb and channel renewal, and a cul-de-sac upgrade along Howlett Street between Grosvenor Street and the end of Howlett Street, in Currajong.

This project is part of Council’s annual Roadworks program, which aims to maintain our Council controlled road network to ensure the community’s transportation needs are adequately met and continue to support the growth of our region.

Works to be carried out:

  • remove and replace the road surface with new asphalt
  • remove and replace kerb and channel along Howlett Street between Grosvenor Street and the end
  • reconstruct identified driveway crossovers and accesses
  • construct a cul-de-sac at the end of Howlett Street.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
  • temporary disruption of vehicle access to properties
  • temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.

Project funded by Townsville City Council.
