Roadworks

Council is planning to deliver roadworks along McIlwraith Street between Plume Street and Davidson Street in South Townsville.

This project is part of Council’s annual Roadworks program, which aims to maintain our Council controlled road network to ensure
the community’s transportation needs are adequately met and continue to support the growth of our region.

The works will include:

  • pathway, kerb and driveway works; followed by
  • removal and replacement of the road surface with new asphalt; followed by
  • painting road markings and installation of reflective markers or signage.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
  • temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
  • Council may request residents to relocate vehicle
  • Council will notify impacted properties seven days before work begins.

This project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme program and delivered in partnership with Townsville City Council.
