Roadworks

Council is undertaking roadworks along Oonoonba Road between Fairfield Waters Drive and Waterside Place in Idalia.

This project is part of Council’s annual Roadworks program, which aims to maintain our Council controlled road network to ensure the community’s transportation needs are adequately met and continue to support the growth of our region.

As part of this project, Council will:

• kerb and channel renewal works to damaged sections of guttering
• removal and replacement of the road surface with new asphalt
• painting road markings and installation of reflective markers or signage.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits
• road resurfacing will be complete first, followed by a brief pause before line marking begins. Construction crews will not always be on-site.

Project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme program and delivered in partnership with Townsville City Council.
