Roadworks

Council is continuing roadworks along Oonoonba Road between Fairfield Waters Drive and Waterside Place in Idalia.

Please be advised that the final stage of this project-asphalt surfacing-has been delayed due to equipment failures at external local asphalt plants and resource-related equipment issues.

This project is part of Council’s annual Roadworks program, which aims to maintain our Council controlled road network to ensure the community’s transportation needs are adequately met and continue to support the growth of our region.

As part of this project, Council will:

• removal and replacement of the road surface with new asphalt
• painting of road markings and installation of reflective markers or signage will be carried out two-three weeks after the road surface works are completed.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.

Project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme program and delivered in partnership with Townsville City Council.
