Roadworks

Townsville City Council plans to undertake roadworks along West Point Road adjacent to the Waste Recycling Facility in Picnic Bay.

This project is part of Council’s annual Roadworks program, which aims to maintain our Council controlled road network to ensure the community’s transportation needs are adequately met and continue to support the growth of our region.

As part of this project, Council will:

  • Road Surface Restoration: Damaged sections of the road will be reinstated with new asphalt
  • Line Marking: Line markings will be reinstated in locations where they have been removed during construction.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • Construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • Increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
  • Temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits
  • Council may request residents to relocate vehicles.

This project is proudly funded Townsville City Council.
