Tree Removal

Council’s Principal Arborist has recently completed a detailed inspection of a Alstonia scholaris tree located adjacent to community infrastructure within Queens Gardens, North Ward.

The decision to remove this tree is made based on the certified arborist’s report, which confirms that the tree is in poor health and has become a risk to the surrounding infrastructure and public safety.

Unfortunately, no further arboriculturally management practices can be recommended to safely retain the tree.

These works will include:

  • removal of the tree and mulching
  • suitable replacement trees will be planted near the removed tree to replace the equivalent lost canopy cover.

If you visit in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
  • temporary traffic changes, including temporary park section closures, minor commuter delays and reduced speed limits.
