Water Supply Interruption
What works are coming up?
Townsville City Council is preparing to relocate water mains at the intersection of Decourcey and Haughton Streets at Ross River Road.
This will allow RoadTek, in partnership with GNM, to undertake a significant renewal project.
This project requires some water main relocations, resulting in a temporary interruption to your property’s water supply.
What will the works include?
As part of these works Council will:
- isolate the water main and move it to allow RoadTek to complete their intersection upgrade works
What does this mean for me?
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- temporary water interruption between 9am – 3pm
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary disruptions to vehicle access to properties and some on street parking
Important
When the water supply is restored the initial water supply may be discoloured, if necessary, run taps until the discolouration disappears. Automatic washing machines should be turned off during this water shut-off.
Funding
Project funded by the Townsville City Council.
