Water Main Replacement and Footpath Works
Following successful geotechnical investigations on Yarrawonga Drive, Townsville City Council expects to commence water main replacement and footpath reconstruction works from Tuesday 14 October 2025.
Access to properties will be maintained wherever possible, and any disruption will be kept to a minimum.
During this time, residents may experience temporary water disruptions. Council will provide specific details of any planned water outages at least 24 hours in advance.
As part of these works, the contractor will:
- remove and replace underground water main pipes
- undertake testing and maintenance of associated water infrastructure
- reconstruct the footpath in full-width plain concrete
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary traffic changes, including road closures, traffic detours and reduced speed limits
Project funded by Townsville City Council and is being delivered by a local contractor, Shamrock Civil.
