Surveying Works for Guardrail Design
Council will be undertaking surveying works along Nelly Bay Road as part of the Guardrail Design Project.
This project is part of Council’s annual Guardrail Renewal program, which ensures that guardrails remain fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards, with the aim of enhancing safety for all road users.
As part of this project, Council will:
- conduct surveying works along Nelly Bay Road, specifically between 51 Nelly Bay Road (Nomads Magnetic Island) and the entrance to Apex Camps Magnetic Island on Birt Street.
If you live near or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- surveyor’s working on the road
- temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
Project funded by Townsville City Council and is being delivered by the local contractor, AECOM.
