Kerb and Channel Renewal Works
Council is undertaking kerb and channel renewal works, along with associated road pavement upgrades, on Ramsay Street between Chandler Street and Clarke Street, in Garbutt.
This project is part of our annual kerb and channel renewal program, which aims to address structural deficiencies and improve overall drainage in our Council controlled road network to enhance safety, reduce maintenance costs and improve the quality of life for residents.
What will the works include?
- remove and replace the kerb and channel along the even-numbered side of Ramsay Street, as indicated on the project consultation graphic below.
- remove and replace identified property driveway crossovers as indicated
- replacement of the removed road pavement with new asphalt.
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary disruption of vehicle access to properties
- temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
This project is funded by Townsville City Council.
