Pathway Upgrade Works

Council recently installed an asphalt footpath along Ogden Street between Denham Street and Stokes Street, in Townsville City.

After further consideration and community feedback, Council has decided to replace the asphalt with a coloured concrete footpath.

This upgrade will complement the area’s character and contribute to a more visually appealing streetscape.

Works will include:

  • removing existing asphalt pathway and constructing approximately 135 meters of coloured pathway
  • reinstating the pathway connection to restore functionality and appeal.

If you work in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
  • temporary traffic changes, including pathway and on-street parking closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits
  • Temporary change of entry/exit conditions to the Northtown underground carpark.

Project funded by Townsville City Council.
