Roadworks

Council is undertaking roadworks within the Cannan Street and Davidson Street intersection in South Townsville.

This project is part of Council’s annual Stormwater Drainage Renewal program, which aims to maintain the underground stormwater network to ensure the community’s drainage needs are adequately met, while continue to protect property and reduce flooding.

As a part of this project, Council will:

• upgrade the stormwater grated channel system located at the intersection
• remove and replace the intersection road pavement with new asphalt
• painting road markings and installation of reflective markers or signage.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
