Roadworks Stage 1

Townsville City Council is investing $352 million this year and as a part of this commitment, Council will be undertaking transport network improvement works.

This project reflects Council’s continued dedication to building a Well-Managed City, ensuring that Council-controlled connectivity networks are effectively maintained to meet the evolving needs of our community and support the growth of our region.

As part of Stage 1, Council will:

• reconstruct sections of damaged kerb and channel fronting properties from number 7 to number 15 Evergreen Drive, and from number 12 Evergreen Drive to number 27 Hoop Street
• reconstruct identified driveway crossovers at number 9 and 12 Evergreen Drive

Following completion of Stage 1, asphalt road surface works are planned for Stage 2. A separate notification will be provided in the weeks leading up to Stage 2.

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits
• Council may request residents to relocate vehicles.
