Water Main Valve Replacement

As part of the Liberty Drive water main upgrade, Townsville City Council will be undertaking essential valve replacement and asset improvement works.

To complete these works, a temporary water shutdown is required for residents of Liberty Drive from 9pm to 6am. Additionally,
residents in Greater Ascot, Kalynda Chase, and Harris Crossing may experience low water pressure during this time.

This project is part of Council’s annual water maintenance plan, which focuses on keeping our community infrastructure in optimal condition and supporting ongoing regional growth.

As part of this project, Council will:

• replace the existing water main valve
• carry out works to improve the integrity and reliability of the water infrastructure.

If you live near, visit or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• temporary water shut off from 9pm to 6am for residents of Liberty Drive
• low water pressure across Greater Ascot, Kalynda Chase, and Harris Crossing
• construction machinery and vehicle movement in the area
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations.
