Townsville City Galleries offers a range of workshops delivered in our Gallery spaces, catering for children, families, teens and adults, that enable community members to experience the arts through workshops and activities.
Gallery Creatives
For Teens and Adults
Gallery Creatives workshops are one-off, low-cost workshops run in our Gallery spaces, and are aimed at introducing beginners to new techniques and mediums. We engage exhibiting and local artists to develop and deliver these workshops that are informed by the exhibitions on display.
The workshops last around two hours and participants get to take home a finished work at the end. There are two age groups for these workshops, Creative Crowd for teenagers (12 to 17 years), and adult Gallery Creatives workshops (18 years and over).
Masterclass Workshops
Our Masterclass workshops offer an in-depth insight into various mediums over the calendar year and are aimed at developing skills for intermediate to advanced creatives.

School Holiday Workshops
Townsville City Galleries is proud to offer free workshops for all the family during school holidays. Get inspired by the exhibitions on display at our Galleries and get creative!
These workshops are free, and no bookings are required. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
