Construction has started on a new pedestrian pathway which will enhance road safety and better connect Picnic Bay and Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island.

Over 20,000 kilograms, or 20 tonnes, of organic waste has been diverted from landfill in Townsville just two weeks into the Food Organic and Garden Organic (FOGO) trial.

Townsville residents can dispose of domestic waste at any of Council’s waste facilities with no charge this weekend (22 - 25 October).
