Merry Christmas from the Townsville City Council Grants and Partnerships Team

We have loved working with our community in 2021 to deliver incredible events and initiatives.

Due to staff leave and Council's Christmas shutdown, any applications to the Grants and Partnerships Program submitted now will be unable to be actioned until mid-January 2022. Please keep this in mind when submitting to avoid disappointment.

Any grant applications submitted post 15 December 2021 will incur a delay in notification due to this shutdown.

This grant allows the Mayor to respond to requests for financial assistance from local community organisations.

Funding is available for local community organisations who are undertaking an initiative that serves a community purpose and in doing so supports one or more of Council’s corporate goals. Up to $500 (excluding GST) is available per request. Please note there is a limit to the amount of funding available for these grants. Once this amount has been reached, no further grants will be awarded until the next financial year.

Purpose

The purpose of this grant is to:

  • Support local fundraising initiatives.
  • Recognise the achievements of those in the local community through donations, prizes and awards.
  • Encourage Townsville residents to engage in and provide for the Townsville community.
  • Provide support for Townsville based charitable institutions and community organisations.

Eligibility

An applicant must be an incorporated organisation, or be auspiced by such an organisation.

Applicants must be based within the boundaries of the Townsville City Council local government area.

All initiatives, for which funding is sought, must be conducted within the Townsville City Council local government area and/or be of benefit to the Townsville community.

You must have successfully acquitted any previous grants from Townsville City Council.

You must be free of debt to the Townsville City Council.

Assessment Timeframes

This grant has a 2 week timeframe for assessment from date of application to notification of outcome.
